LEADERSHIP
With thanks to Sgt. Major Maurice Jacques, USMC (Ret.)
1. Lead by
example. Leaders don't
ask anyone to do anything they can't or won't do. Share
hardship and success. 2. Get
involved. Know what's
going on. Good leaders listen to their subordinates, and are
at ease in their presence. 3.
Delegate. You cannot
make every decision by yourself. Develop initiative and good
judgement in your subordinates. 4. Be Competent,
technically,
tactically, and administratively. Study ways to improve your
knowledge and skills. 5. Be a good
teacher. Develop and
improve your ability to convey knowledge, experience and
professionalism.
